The objective of the International Conference on Ionizing Processes (ICIP) is to provide a platform for the exchange of new ideas and discoveries in radiation sciences as it pertains to physics, chemistry, and biology, and to facilitate translating that knowledge to industry and other application spaces. By focusing on bridging the gap between laboratory experiments and industrial scale applications, this conference fills a crucial role in ensuring progress is continuing to be made for both fundamental and applied radiation science and that the two continue to be mutually beneficial to one another. As the only US-based radiation chemistry conference, the ICIP plays a pivotal role in bolstering US participation in the field and serves as an important recruitment opportunity for those in need of US citizens with a radiation chemistry background. Since this conference attracts world leaders in the field, such an exchange could not be possible through other means.
