Frequently Asked Questions
Hold on...is this the annual conference?
Yes. Shingo Connect is the new name for the Shingo Annual Conference. We run them in the USA, Europe, LATAM, and APAC. The name change caused enough confusion that we'll keep saying this for awhile.
We're early in our journey, will Shingo Connect be over our heads?
No, but this is the most common hesitation we hear! Every Shingo Connect is intentionally designed to bring together organizations at different stages of their improvement efforts. Those who are earlier in the process often rate the experience especially highly because they find the lessons from advanced organizations’ challenges and failures even more valuable than their success stories.
We already do Lean. What does this add?
Lean gives you tools. The Shingo Model addresses how to keep those tools working when the person championing them leaves. If your improvements have ever unraveled after a leadership change, that gap is what this event is about.
Is this only for manufacturing?
No. Attendees come from healthcare, mining, government, ports and logistics, pharmaceutical, construction, education, financial services, and more. Sessions are deliberately cross-industry because the principles transfer even when the tools do not.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing is based on the number of people attending, with additional savings available based on how early you register. Talk with colleagues at your location or a sister site to determine how many people plan to attend, then select the pricing level that best matches your group.
You can register individually or together as a group within any pricing category—it does not affect the rate. Simply choose the pricing level that reflects the total number of people attending from your organization or affiliated sites.
We trust you to choose the appropriate pricing level—we’re not going to micromanage your selection. It’s one small way we practice Respect Every Individual, giving you the autonomy to select the option that best reflects your team.
Are the site tours included or extra?
Site tours are included with your conference registration at no additional cost. They are first-come, first-serve, so register early to guarantee your spot.
Are the workshops included or extra?
The half-day, hands-on workshops are included with conference registration, with one exception: the PIT Crew Experience requires an additional fee due to the cost of delivering the experience.
The two-day DISCOVER EXCELLENCE and SYSTEMS DESIGN workshops are separate from the conference and are priced accordingly. There are no group discounts for these workshops.
I can only send one person. Is it worth it?
Yes, but bringing a team provides extra benefits to your organization. Sessions run concurrently and do not repeat, so one person cannot see the whole event. If your team can participate, the return on investment scales materially.
Is it really worth attending?
It's hard to put a price on sharing headspace for days on end with people facing the same challenges as you. Your aha moment might come during a session, while talking with new friends in the hall, or even long after you've departed, but chances are it will come—and it could change your organization's direction profoundly.
