The OCDE Project GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) 2-day research and theory session offers educators a deep dive into the latest strategies for language acquisition and the science behind effective language development. Participants will explore the foundational principles of GLAD and how they apply to diverse student populations. The 4-day classroom demonstration that follows provides hands-on experience, where educators can observe and practice GLAD techniques in real-time. By the end of the training, teachers will gain valuable insights into engaging students, enhancing language skills, and applying research-backed strategies in their classrooms to support language learners and foster academic success.

Content standards for continuing education credit hours that apply to this PD are highlighted below.
The content and objectives of in-service continuing education credit hours must relate to one or more of the following:
- Opportunities for participants to collect and analyze evidence related to student learning;
- Professional certificate standards;
- Paraeducator standards of practice as described in Title 179 WAC;
- School and district improvement efforts;
- Education frameworks and curriculum alignment;
- Research-based instructional strategies and assessment practices;
