Meet the Speakers
Dr. Jose Franco (Dr. Pepe)
Dr. Jose Franco earned his dental degree from the Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara and received his orthodontic specialty from the Universidad Latino Americana in Mexico. After his specialty studies, he completed his hospital rotations at Jerusalem Israel followed by his incorporation into the Surgeons dentist school Costa Rica in 2005. Dr. Franco had practiced in Israel, Mexico and Costa Rica.
Prior to joining Spark, Dr. Franco worked at Align Technology from 2004 – 2019 as the Clinical Director, Spark. During this time, he lectured for Align Technology throughout America, EMEA, and APAC and he was also the clinician in charge of opening the new facilities globally.
Dr. Karol Miranda
Dr. Karol Miranda is the Clinical Manager on the Spark Digital Product Innovation team and has over 18 years of clear aligner industry experience. She has helped build Spark from the beginning and has been involved in the software development and clinical trials, working closely with R&D, operations, and manufacturing. Dr. Miranda is credited as "Inventor" on three Spark patents. She has a Master's Degree in higher education and was a professor for many years at the Dental Faculty of ULACIT, in Costa Rica. She is also a volunteer for our Envista Smile Project, a philanthropic foundation helping to create access to oral care through a dedicated team of dental professionals and Envista employees, donations of treatment, preventive care, dental products, and oral health education for underserved communities around the world.
