DOE Office of Science SCAC Quantum Subcommittee Community Town Hall

Help Shape the Future of Quantum Information Science

The SCAC Quantum Subcommittee invites the community to participate in a virtual town hall to help inform the development of a roadmap for DOE Office of Science investments and activities in quantum information science (QIS).

The roadmap will focus on:

• A near-term path toward transformative quantum computing capabilities by 2028; and
• A longer-term vision for a potential DOE quantum computing user facility integrated with future scientific tools across the DOE national laboratories.

The Subcommittee is seeking input from academia, national laboratories, industry, federal agencies, and scientific user communities on topics including:

• High-impact scientific applications;
• Quantum algorithms and computing requirements;
• Key technology and system challenges;
• Facility vision and user models;
• Public-private partnerships and ecosystem development.

Input is sought in two forms: 1) written responses to a questionnaire; 2) a talk at the community townhall. Follow instructions below to submit your input.

Speaking Requests

Community members are encouraged to register and participate in the discussion.

Those interested in presenting brief remarks during the town hall may submit a request to speak as part of the registration process.

Please include:

• Presentation title
• Presenter affiliation
• Brief abstract (200–300 words)
• Relevant topic area(s)

Because of time limitations, not all speaking requests may be accommodated. Submitted abstracts will help the Subcommittee ensure broad representation across scientific domains and stakeholder communities.
