Custom Indexing is an investment strategy wherein a portfolio is managed to mimic an index or other portfolio, while taking into account the tax position, holdings, and individual investing preferences of a client. The performance of a portfolio using custom indexing may vary significantly from the target index (referred to as tracking error or tracking difference), and this variance may increase with greater customization within a portfolio.
Tax-loss Harvesting is a process by which securities trading at unrealized losses are sold to realize a taxable loss. Proceeds from the sales are then used to reinvest in alternate securities to maintain market exposure. Tax-loss Harvesting can be used as a strategy to offset realized gains from other investments and/or carried forward to later calendar years to offset future taxable gains.

The Elite Advisor Network program (the "Program") is offered by Orion Portfolio Solutions, LLC ("OPS"), an Orion Company, a registered investment advisor. Participation in the Program is voluntary and is limited to representatives of firms who have agreed to the terms of the Program. Qualifying advisors in the Program receive noncash benefits from OPS based generally on two factors: 1) the amount of client assets the qualifying advisor maintains on the Orion Portfolio Solutions or Brinker Capital Investments platforms and 2) Participation by the qualifying advisor in "qualifying factors" including attending marketing events hosted or sponsored by OPS. Assets on other platforms do not qualify (e.g., OCIO assets and assets in Brinker strategies on 3rd party platforms). Benefits that advisors receive through the OPS Program vary by tier and may include, but are not limited to: enhanced training and operational support for the advisor and his or her staff, marketing support, increased discounts on value-added technology services, expense reimbursement for travel to and attendance at approved OPS events, and access to other approved OPS sponsored functions.
