"Project D.I.M.E.: Addressing Healthcare Disparities with Disability Clinical Competency Education"

The NYU Dentistry Oral Health Center for People with Disabilities invites you to a special CE webinar.

In this lecture, Dr. Rick Rader will provide an overview of how Project D.I.M.E. - Disability Inspired Medical Education is changing the way medical training has overlooked proper care for patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Learning objectives will help providers:

  • Understand the impact of healthcare disparities in people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Appreciate the impact of clinicians not having the skills, confidence and experience on health outcomes for people with complex disabilities.
  • See the wisdom in mandating disability competency skills for MDs, PAs and NPs in improved efficacy for all patients; not just for patients with disabilities.

Introductions and Q&A session moderated by: Barbie Vartanian, Director, Oral Health Advocacy & Policy Initiatives at NYU Dentistry

Hosted by NYU Dentistry Oral Health Center for People with Disabilities and Development and Alumni Relations.

1 CE credit.
