Join artists from across Mississippi and beyond as we gather in the heart of the Mississippi Delta for Paint the Town Greenwood, a two-day celebration of plein air painting, friendship, and creativity.
Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or you're a seasoned professional, you'll find a welcoming community eager to paint, learn, and explore together.
Spend your days capturing Greenwood's historic downtown, beautiful architecture, churches, neighborhoods, parks, and Delta landscapes. Share meals with fellow artists, exchange ideas, participate in workshops, compete in our exciting Quick Draw Competition, and celebrate your work at the Wet Paint Sale and Awards Reception.

Join us in Historic Greenwood, MS as businesses and homeowners open their historic establishments for tours Saturday, October 10th, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Live music will continue on Historic Ramcat Alley until 10:00 p.m.
You’ll get firsthand tours of homes and churches, where history was made with architecture dating back to the late 1800’s, to properties used as set location in the movie The Help which made Greenwood famous! This is a first ever tour of The Help properties! Each property will have its own knowledgeable tour guide so the historic presentations will be abundant!
Enjoy live music throughout the day and evening at Historic Ramcat Alley. Restaurants and food trucks will be available.

Friday, Oct 9 - Paint Out- Workshops - Evening Paint Out Competition
Registration starts at 8:30
Location: Staplcotn, 214 W Market St
Morning & afternoon workshops available: $100 (info coming soon)
Lunch is included. Location TBD
You are welcome to paint all day.
4:00 pm - Meet & Greet artist's reception at Staplcotn
5:00 pm - 1 hour Evening Paint Out Competition in downtown Greenwood. Get your canvas stamped at the Meet & Greet reception
Saturday, Oct 10
8:00 am -Start painting when you are ready.
12:00 - Lunch is on your own today. There will be food trucks on the street during the Heritage and Rhythm Stroll event that will be in full swing. Several downtown restaurants will also be open.
2:00 - The paint out ends at 2:00 pm at Staplcotn. The closing wet paint sale will be open to the public. Bring your display easel.
3:00 - Bring your completed works to Staplcotn no later than 3:00 for judging.
4:00 pm - Closing reception & wet paint sale open to the public. Bring your display easel.
9:00 am Quick Draw Competition
Goal: Paint your canvas in 1.5 hours
Location: Downtown Greenwood
$10 fee to participate paid in advance.
8-8:30 am -Canvas stamp at Staplcotn
9:00 am - start in downtown Greenwood
10:30 am - Brushes down
Bring completed paintings immediately to Staplcotn for judging.
Reminder: You are not required to place your art for sale or to place your work in the competitions. You are required to relax and have a great time!
Guests may attend and participate in all meal and receptions. $25 fee

Please plan to frame your work for display and judging. Stretch canvases do not need to be framed.

This event is sponsored by the Greenwood Main Street Association and CVB. They would prefer that we paint in the downtown and Grand Boulevard area, but it's not required.
