MOSHE Education Event: Active Shooter Response Tabletop Exercise

Organizational leaders and staff need to be prepared to respond to an active assailant in their building. This four-hour tabletop scenario of disaster preparedness, led by a senior consultant for security assessment and protective services, takes participants through the process of dealing with an active assailant event to familiarize participants with the response process and enable administrators to gauge the effectiveness emergency response practices. Participants will learn how to identify roles when responding to an emergent event and will evaluate their current approaches and identify flaws or gaps in their organizations’ response plans to create a personalized road map to strengthen their crisis management plans. The presenter also will discuss what changes can be made to a building’s infrastructure to help make organizations safer for employees, business partners, customers and guests. Attendees are encouraged to bring their current crisis management plans or emergency operations plans to the event for reference during the exercise. This presentation will help organizational leaders properly prevent, respond to and recover from a hostile event through training and education.
