Democracy and the Life of Cities

Building on the 2021 White House-hosted Summit for Democracy and its city-focused side event, this workshop will examine the policies and practices through which cities can advance democratic practices. Conversations will explore three key themes: transparency and accountability, pluralistic democracy, and public life.

The workshop will inform and build momentum for the Cities Declaration for Democracy and its delivery event at the 2022 World Urban Forum.
