TRIBUTE TO A LEADER  

This annual conference is a tribute to the late Dr. Joseph C. Toland, a PCO graduate and professor with over 40 years of service. His avid support of optometric education and residency training has paved the way for how we practice optometry. Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Drexel University extends our deepest respect and gratitude to Dr. Toland. In his honor, all net proceeds from this annual event will directly benefit our residency program.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

The optometric profession continues to expand its scope of practice, and the need for advanced training and education continues to grow. Outstanding clinicians and educators will discuss new evidence based approaches in the treatment and management of ophthalmic disorders and visual function.

RESIDENCY PROGRAM

PCO manages one of the nation’s largest optometric residency programs. We offer post-graduate training in primary care, ocular disease, vision rehabilitation, pediatrics/vision therapy, cornea/contact lenses, and neuro-ophthalmic disease. Currently, there are 7 in-house residents at The Eye Institute and 25 affiliated residents at various locations spanning Upstate New York through Central Florida. Our residents receive excellent training while providing patient care to a large and diverse population, rotating among specialized clinical services, attending lectures and presenting at scientific meetings.

Please note: This course is pending COPE accreditation for six synchronous, virtual continuing education credits. Participants are encouraged to check with their state board(s) to ensure CE credits will be accepted for licensure acquisition/renewal.
