2026 Licensure Requirements Series

The New Jersey State Board of Dentistry requires pre-determined courses for licensure renewal.  The NJDA virtual series that includes these mandated courses is convenient and easily accessible at a low price. Each required course is offered three (3) times in 2026 from March through October. Each course is scheduled on different days/times to work around your busy schedule. The required mandates for the November 2025 – October 2027 Licensure Period:

The New Jersey State Board of Dentistry requires the mandatory completion of forty (40) hours of continuing education for license renewal, which takes place every two years. For registration renewal beginning November 1, 2025, the following 10 hours must be completed as part of the 40 required hours.

  • Three Hours of Pharmacology and Internal Medicine
  • One Hour in Prescription Opioid Drugs
  • One Hour in Professional Ethics and NJ Law Concerning the Practice of Dentistry
  • Two Hours in Preventing and Controlling Infectious Diseases
  • Three Hours with Practical Hands-On Certification for CPR

  • PLEASE NOTE: CPR is NOT included in this series but we offer a convenient solution for dentists and their staff available on our website.
  • Courses are offered monthly at NJDA Headquarters
  • Blended Learning Courses are offered monthly- complete the lecture and testing requirements online followed by completion of a hands-on testing at NJDA Headquarters
  • Schedule a Private Program at your practice (minimum 6 attendees required) - for the same low member price!
  • Merge with another practice to offer CPR near your location
  • Hispanic Speaking program available

ADA Member Dentist

Virtual Package - $199

Al a carte - $59 per course

Non-Member Dentist

Virtual Package - $499

Al a carte - $130 per course

Please note: In order to qualify for the ADA member rate, dentists must be an ADA member at the time of purchase and maintain their membership until each course in their package has been completed.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

A $15 administrative fee will be deducted from each refund issued. Please note this does not pertain to registration modifications. Attendees who cancel a virtual course must do so at least 7 days prior to the course date to receive a refund. Attendees who cancel an in-person course must do so at least 14 days prior to the course date to receive a refund. Please allow two weeks after the conclusion of any program for refund processing. Refunds cannot be issued for online training courses such as Basic Life Support as NJDA incurs costs once a training link has been issued.

The New Jersey Dental Association retains the right to cancel any program, event, or course for any reason at its sole discretion.

 

ADA CERP Recognition Statement

ADA CERP is a service of the ADA that assists dental professionals in identifying quality providers of CDE. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. The NJDA's current term of recognition extends from May 2025 through June 2029. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to the provider or to ADA CERP.
