Program information
The up to 12-week program consists of weekly modules (lesson plan) discussed during online meetings with your instructor and classmates. Prior to the start of the class, you will be contacted with program information and link to the online class.

To earn the "Public Works Specialist" certificate you must complete 12 of the classes offered (or 6 of the classes for "Public Works Technician" certificate).
Summer 2026 session: Registration opens June 22, 2026 - July 13, 2026 at 5:00 PM PST, with classes starting the week of August 3, 2026.
Check the class schedule once posted for the instructor name, time and days the classes are being conducted to avoid timing conflicts.
“Introduction to Public Works” is the prerequisite to all classes.
The "Public Works Inspections" class is a prerequisite to the Concrete Structures & Inspections class.
The "Plans Interpretation" class is a prerequisite to the Construction Math & Cost Estimating class.
Otherwise, you may take any of the courses in any order.
There are normally three semesters a year and you can take multiple classes if class timings do not conflict.
Cost: $175 (per class, plus $5.00 administrative fee) - includes tuition, credit card processing fee and all necessary materials.
Deadline: Register by July 13, 2026.

- Refunds (minus the $5 administrative fee) are not available once the semester starts.
