Fireside Chat with Michael Gatto

Michael Gatto joined Silver Point Capital in April 2002 and became the first non-founding partner in January 2003. Today, he is the head of the Firm’s Private Side, which includes the Firm’s Direct Lending business and the Firm’s Restructuring Activities.

Prior to joining Silver Point, Gatto worked at Goldman Sachs as a senior member within the Special Situations Investing Business. Before Goldman, Gatto designed and taught credit training programs for loan officers of North American and European Financial Institutions, and prior to his training program work, he was a loan officer and director of Global Training at Citibank.

Outside of Silver Point, Gatto is an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School and Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, where he teaches courses on credit analysis, and distressed value & special situation investing. He authored the credit investing textbook - “The Credit Investor’s Handbook: Leveraged Loans, High Yield Bonds and Distressed Debt.”
