This course is designed for experienced technicians, project managers, estimators, and owner/managers who want to expand their knowledge and technical skills within the commercial drying industry.

Professionals involved in large-loss or CAT (catastrophe) restoration projects are strongly encouraged to enroll.

Looking to advance your water damage restoration expertise? This advanced class delivers exactly that. You’ll receive in-depth, hands-on training in conducting surveys, operating essential drying equipment, and managing complex commercial drying projects from start to finish.

Safety Considerations

Due to the nature of commercial drying projects, these environments often present significantly higher safety risks than residential work. Potential hazards may include, but are not limited to:

• High voltage electrical systems
• Confined spaces
• Energized machinery
• Hazardous chemicals
• Heavy equipment and forklifts

While this course teaches advanced drying techniques and project management practices, it is not a safety or compliance course. Participants are expected to be familiar with and comply with all applicable safety regulations, including local, state, provincial, and national guidelines.

We strongly recommend completing appropriate safety training—such as OSHA 10-hour or Health and Safety Technician (HST) certification—prior to attending the CDS course.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

This class provides comprehensive training in carpet cleaning fundamentals, including fiber identification and cleaning methodologies. You’ll also learn how to effectively clean various types of carpets—from broadlooms to synthetic blends—using proper tools, products, and techniques. By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Identify different types of fibers, yarns, and carpet constructions with accuracy.
• Assess the source and type of soiling and determine the most effective cleaning solutions.
• Apply proper cleaning techniques and procedures to achieve optimal results.
• Develop strong customer service skills to build trust and ensure client satisfaction.
• Perform thorough pre-inspections to support warranty claims and maintain professional standards.

DETAILS

• Upon passing the final exam with a score of 75% or higher, you’ll earn your Commercial Drying Specialist (CDS) certification.
• This course also qualifies for 14 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) with the IICRC.

More Than 31 Days Before the Class Start Date

If you are unable to attend your scheduled class and notify us more than 31 days prior to the start date, you may choose one of the following options:

• Transfer your seat to another individual within your organization,
  or
• Reschedule to another class date of the same course or one of equivalent value.
  
  

Within 31 Days of the Class Start Date

• If you are unable to attend and notify us within 31 days of the class start date, you may transfer your seat to another individual within your organization for the same scheduled date. No rescheduling or additional changes will be permitted due to contractual commitments with the training organization and instructor.
  
  

CLASS CANCELLATIONS BY ARAMSCO

Aramsco will make every reasonable effort to reschedule you for an alternative class based on your availability. A full refund will be issued only if Aramsco is unable to provide an alternative class or determines that extenuating circumstances warrant a refund.

TRAVEL PLAN POLICY

Aramsco is not responsible for any travel-related losses. We recommend purchasing refundable or flexible airline tickets to avoid potential issues.

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

Students attending Aramsco/Safety Express hosted classes agree to adhere to the following code of conduct. Failure to adhere to the code may result in their removal from the class.

• Payment for classes is required in full prior to class.
• Students must use a device with a camera and microphone, along with a strong internet connection.
• Students must participate from a static location that is quiet, free from disturbances, and allows for full concentration on the class instructor and content.
• Departures from the class should be kept to a minimum.
• Cameras must remain enabled, and the video communication technology window must remain active throughout the entire class.
• The minimum contact time for each class requires students must participate for the entirety of the class to be eligible to take the exam. This is an IICRC regulation.
