Course Description
The program will review how to restore endodontically treated teeth both directly and indirectly. This will include clinical discussion around adhesives and composite placement. There will be an overview of various matrix systems including an in-depth discussion on sectional matrix, specifically strategies around ideal placement in different clinical situations. In addition, a review of the use of bulk fill composites compared to traditional incremental layering. In addition to this, an overview of indirect options including full coverage crowns and full coverage inlays will be discussed. It's also important to review the considerations of when to utilize either zirconia or lithium disilicate options. One of the important considerations is how effectively cement or bond restorations in place.
Course Objectives:
- Understand the importance of placing a quality restoration on an endodontically treated tooth.
- Review clinical considerations in placement of adhesive bond prior to composite placement.
- Discussion and demonstration of the placement of sectional matrix systems.
- Reviewing the use of bulk fill composite vs incremental layering.
- Trouble shooting unique clinical situations to get proper placement of direct restorations.
- Review Material options to restore endodontically treated teeth with indirect restorations.
- Discuss benefits and risks of full coverage crowns vs full coverage onlays when restoring endodontically treated teeth.
- Discuss and review different options for cementing or bonding indirect restorations.
