Who It’s For:

This course is designed for individuals interested in starting a career in the trauma and crime scene cleanup industry, as well as technicians seeking to enhance or refresh their skills in this specialized field.

Work It Supports:

When the smoke clears and the dust settles, it’s the Trauma and Crime Scene Cleanup Technicians who restore order and safety to chaos. In this role, you’ll support a variety of organizations, agencies, and officials during complex and often sensitive situations.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, you’ll have the knowledge and hands-on skills required to properly evaluate, clean, and decontaminate sites affected by human trauma. You’ll gain the confidence to navigate both the technical and emotional challenges associated with trauma and crime scene cleanup.

You’ll learn how to:

• Understand and comply with federal and provincial regulations and recommendations

• Assess and manage potentially infectious materials, including developing hazard assessments, work plans, and safe transport procedures

• Address the psychological challenges faced by surviving family members, occupants, and workers

• Protect health and safety through the correct use of PPE, immunizations, and lines of defense

• Apply antimicrobials and biocides effectively

• Operate specialized equipment and processes for structure and contents decontamination

• Implement odor control and removal techniques

• Evaluate restoration feasibility and procedures

• Manage advanced cleanup scenarios, including those involving decomposition and putrefaction

DETAILS

Once you pass the final exam with a 75% or higher, you’ll earn your Trauma and Crime Scene Cleanup Technician certification.

This course qualifies for 14 continuing education credits (CEC) with the IICRC.

More Than 31 Days Before the Class Start Date

If you are unable to attend your scheduled class and notify us more than 31 days prior to the start date, you may choose one of the following options:

• Transfer your seat to another individual within your organization, or
• Reschedule to another class date of the same course or one of equivalent value.
  
  

Within 31 Days of the Class Start Date

• If you are unable to attend and notify us within 31 days of the class start date, you may transfer your seat to another individual within your organization for the same scheduled date. No rescheduling or additional changes will be permitted due to contractual commitments with the training organization and instructor.
  
  

CLASS CANCELLATIONS BY ARAMSCO

Aramsco will make every reasonable effort to reschedule you for an alternative class based on your availability. A full refund will be issued only if Aramsco is unable to provide an alternative class or determines that extenuating circumstances warrant a refund.

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

Students attending Aramsco/Safety Express hosted classes agree to adhere to the following code of conduct. Failure to adhere to the code may result in their removal from the class.

• Payment for classes is required in full prior to class.
• Students must use a device with a camera and microphone, along with a strong internet connection.
• Students must participate from a static location that is quiet, free from disturbances, and allows for full concentration on the class instructor and content.
• Departures from the class should be kept to a minimum.
• Cameras must remain enabled, and the video communication technology window must remain active throughout the entire class.
• The minimum contact time for each class requires students must participate for the entirety of the class to be eligible to take the exam. This is an IICRC regulation.
