The main obective of the course is to provide knowledge to underpin the selection, screening, engineering and execution of MPD projects. The course will highlight drilling characteristics and non productive time problems that drive consideration and ultimately either rejection or selection of one or more of the available variants of managed pressure drilling technology.

• The course explains the advantages, disadvantages and key considerations when evaluating and selecting MPD candidates.

• Participants learn about MPD fluid systems, equipment requirements and the potential impact of an existing well design and the potential to change well design.

• By the end of the course participants will have a good overview of the various MPD technologies, where and how they can be applied.

• They will be able to estimate the value MPD potentially adds to candidate wells. They will be made aware of and learn how to address MPD specific safety and well design concerns, specify equipment and understand and contribute to the MPD related parts of a drilling program.
