ABOUT RRS 2025

I am thrilled to announce the 71st Annual Meeting of the Radiation Research Society, set in the heart of San Juan, Puerto Rico. This year’s event, held at the iconic Hilton Caribe from September 21-24, 2025, combines the brilliance of radiation science with the vibrant energy and natural beauty of the Caribbean.

Members of the program committee have curated an exceptional lineup, highlighting cutting edge topics at the forefront of radiation research. Key topics include novel radiation-based treatment approaches and standards for precision medicine, applications and development of large-scale facilities for ion therapy, the impact and use of AI in radiation science, advances in multi-scale modeling, dosimetry and biodosimetry, the intersection of immunology and radiation effects, current strategies for the development of medical countermeasures, and emerging needs in radiation research, from fusion to space travel. These themes reflect our Society’s unique commitment to tackling pressing scientific challenges while embracing opportunities for innovation and collaboration in this rapidly advancing discipline.

Known as the Birthplace of the Piña Colada (!), the Hilton Caribe provides the perfect venue for fostering innovation, sharing groundbreaking research, and building connections that strengthen the radiation science community. On September 20, we will kick off the event with pre-meeting workshop tailored for RRS Scholars-in-Training.

San Juan’s unique blend of rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning scenery provides an inspiring backdrop for this gathering. Participants will have opportunities to engage in forward-looking discussions and collaborative exchanges spanning radiation physics, chemistry, biology, epidemiology, and medicine, all while delving deeper into what it means to 'Live Boricua'.

This annual meeting is more than a conference—it’s a chance to rekindle connections, establish new partnerships, and contribute to the collective progress of our field. Puerto Rico’s welcoming spirit and lively setting promise an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

Be part of this exciting journey and share your experiences using #RadRes2025 on social media. Let’s come together to make this year’s meeting the most impactful and enjoyable yet.

The sun, sea, and science of San Juan await you!
