Sponsorship Information 2025

The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) is the largest, nonprofit, professional association serving massage therapists, massage therapy students, and massage therapy schools.  The AMTA represents over 100,000 massage therapists and recently celebrated 80 years of service. AMTA works to establish massage therapy as integrative healthcare and advance the profession through ethics and standards, continuing education, professional publications, legislative efforts, public education, and fostering the development of members.

AMTA Nebraska Chapter

The AMTA-Nebraska (AMTA-NE) state chapter has 670 members and there are over 1,300 LMTs in our state.  Our goal is to serve members and support all Nebraska Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs), students of massage therapy, and massage therapy schools.

We recognize it is in the best interest of the public and massage therapists to ensure high education standards in Nebraska, to meet the needs of the ever-changing field of healthcare. The chapter exists for community connection and professional advancement. The chapter utilizes its members to volunteer for elected and appointed positions.

Sponsorship Overview

Your sponsorship will support our 2025 professional development events by enhancing the participants' experience. These events bring LMTs and other healthcare professionals, from across the state, together for high-quality, professional instruction at a lower cost. Education events enhance each therapist’s life-long learning goals through learning new perspectives and techniques, improving cognitive thought processes, and problem solving skills.

Other Chapter Activities include:

• Celebrate National Massage Therapy Awareness Week (NMTAW)
• Advance the profession through government relation’s efforts
• Educate at state and national levels
• Attend volunteer leadership trainings
• Develop Community Outreach events and socials
• Recognize massage therapists making impacts in their community
• Provide social media connections to members across the state

2025 Professional Development Events

Spring State Convention will be held April 11th and 12th th in York at The Holthus Convention Center. We will be providing:

• Education: Our instructor, Dustin Donahue, will instruct both days; sharing new movements that advance our stretching technique knowledge for the body (client and therapist), and will improve our critical thinking skills with a deeper understanding of the shoulder and hip joints.
• Socials, banquet meal, and annual member meeting: We host social(s), provide a banquet meal along with a member meeting where we recognize and honor members with awards and share pertinent information regarding our profession and the AMTA.

Cadaver Workshop: In the summer, we will host a cadaver workshop on UNK campus at the UNMC Cadaveric Lab. Participants explore and deepen their anatomy knowledge utilizing cadaver donors. We also host a social along with this event.

Ethics Class: Late summer/early fall, we will be hosting a class for all LMTs to participate and gain a deeper understanding of their scope of practice and other rules/regulations in our state. Conversations and connections will be formed in this learning environment.
