This required training provides New York mandated reporters the tools to recognize and report instances of suspected child abuse or maltreatment. Recent amendments to Social Services Law§ 413 prompted the New York State Office of Children and Family Services to update the curriculum to include trauma, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), bias in decision-making, identifying an abused or maltreated child when such a child is an individual with an intellectual or developmental disability and identification of abuse/maltreatment virtually.
