Attendees receive updates on federal policy, public-lands management, permitting, access, and other legislative and regulatory issues affecting outfitted recreation. Government affairs sessions connect participants with policymakers, land-management agencies, and industry advocates.
The conference is designed for owners, operators, managers, guides, and emerging leaders across the outfitting industry, including rafting, hunting and fishing, dude ranch, climbing, zip line, ski, adventure park, and other outdoor-recreation businesses.

SOLO Wilderness First Aid
Join NOC's SOLO team for a two-day Wilderness First Aid course as part of your America Outdoors Conference experience! Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is SOLO's most popular Wilderness Medicine course. WFA creates a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. This is the perfect certification for outdoor enthusiasts interested in learning basic first aid training and backcountry medical skills. Students will participate in hands-on scenarios in addition to classroom lectures and activities.
Holders of a current Advanced Wilderness First Aid (AWFA) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification from SOLO may use this course for recertification.
- All participants must be 14 years or older. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Wilderness First Aid is a 2-Year Certification
- This is a 2-day course. Check-in is at 8:00AM and concludes at 5PM

This 16-hour course covers topics ranging from preparation and prevention to assessment and treatment. All materials needed for this course are included. You will observe and participate in both indoor and outdoor scenarios, so dress appropriately for the season.

Setting Safety: Defining, Preventing, and Mitigating Sexual Harassment in the Field
This training equips outfitter leaders to build workplace environments where staff feel welcomed and supported, contribute as a cohesive team, communicate intentionally with one another and with guests, and share clear expectations that bullying, harassment, and discrimination will not be tolerated.
Using the familiar framework of scouting drops, watching out for one another, and responding effectively when incidents occur, participants will learn practical approaches to reducing and mitigating power inequities and EEOC risk factors. Interactive breakout sessions will build confidence in recognizing concerns, navigating difficult conversations, responding to conduct by colleagues or clients, and addressing one’s own conduct when necessary.
Participants will review company reporting systems, support for complainants, bystander intervention, trauma-informed care, consent, feedback, and responding appropriately when someone says “no.” Take-home resources, including a staff training video, are intended for participants to share with guides and staff.
This certification requires attendance at all three sessions. Register in advance; seats are limited to 12 people
