A Day in the Life of a Pineapple
Friday, Oct. 13: 8 AM - 2:30 PM
In a world of apples....be a pineapple! The day starts with a transfer to the only working pineapple plantation in America, nestled in the sleepy town of Hali'imail. This eco-friendly plantation offers bi-coastal views, light trade winds and best of all, your very own unofficial fruit of Hawai'i to pick fresh from the earth. The tour is fun and informative and peppered with local history about Maui's plantation heritage. But if you thought the day was over...think again. The versatility of this wonderful fruit continues. The next destination is to the Hali'ilmaile Distilling Company. You will be escorted to the nearby vodka making factory where they are using pineapple to create tantalizing spirits. This tour takes you through the process of making vodka, rum and whiskey and culminates in their tasting room.
Lunch will be provided.
