Event Description:

Assurance Advantage Level 1 - Audit in Action introduces foundational audit concepts through a practical, hands-on view of the audit lifecycle. Designed for early career assurance professionals, this program builds core skills in engagement planning, risk assessment, walkthroughs, substantive testing, and engagement completion. 

Through interactive case studies, participants apply audit procedures and see how individual tasks connect to audit quality, documentation, and the final deliverable. Participants in this program will develop critical thinking, accountability, and audit awareness while strengthening documentation quality, collaboration, and client focused execution.

Assurance Staff with 6 months to 1 year of experience

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to: 

  • Describe the engagement planning process and its role in effective audit execution. 
  • Explain Eide Bailly’s scoping guidelines and sampling form, including how they support audit risk assessment. 
  • Describe the fundamentals of internal control and identify methods used to obtain evidence of control effectiveness. 
  • Identify required walkthroughs and key controls and demonstrate the basic steps for conducting a walkthrough. 
  • Identify audit procedures typically performed by new assurance staff in the following areas: 
  • Accounts receivable 
  • Inventory 
  • Revenue 
  • Explain the purpose of analytical procedures and describe how they are applied during the audit. 
  • Apply firm best practices for basic financial statement preparation, including the statement of cash flows. 
  • Describe the engagement completion process and identify common client deliverables. 

Additional Information: 

These are Group Live sessions. No prerequisites or advanced preparation are required. To qualify for CPE credit, each participant must check in and out of the sessions throughout the day. Please bring a mobile device to facilitate the check in and check out CPE process.
