Live Webinar Series

This five-part webinar series focuses on the new IRF-PAI V4.4 quality indicator sections. Attendees review the definition and coding instructions for each quality indicator item and examine realistic scenarios designed to help them code quality indicator items more accurately as part of their day-to-day practices.

In addition to explaining how to code the quality indicators, the optional final fifth session focuses on understanding case-mix groups (CMGs) and the inpatient rehabilitation prospective payment system (IRF PPS) and the key role that QI coding makes, and IRF-PAI completion accuracy makes in the IRF PPS.

Learning Objectives

  • Define QI items and coding considerations, and use CMS’s clarifications to code the items accurately.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of coding concepts, as illustrated by learning exercises involving example scenarios.
  •  Analyze self-care and mobility outcomes by using identified UDS‑PRO® reports to determine whether the data accurately represents the program and its patients.
  •  Detect areas of opportunity and root causes of inconsistency in QI coding and accuracy, such as those identified during UDSMR’s chart audits.
