The String Doctors - Joe Crawford and Deet Reed have been performing around the Roanoke and New River Valleys as “Joe and Deet” for more than 40 years. Joe is a gentleman golfer and retired executive. Deet has been in entertainment nearly all his life, including stints on TV and bigger screens. Together, they love bringing joy and five-part harmonies to an eclectic mix of rock and country-rock songs from the 60-80s. For the past several years, their close “Friends” on & off the stage include: Dr. Chuck Ball (acoustic guitar, vocals), a family physician in Roanoke; Rick Zarlengo (bass guitar, vocals), a golf professional and our “swing doctor”; Jake Ball (acoustic/electric guitar), an aspiring medical student; and, Dr. Del Bolin (vocals, harmonica), a family and sports medicine doctor in Salem.
