TRAINING DESCRIPTION
Workshop Summary:
Levels I & II will focus on preparing, interviewing, and documenting serious incidents in the workplace. You will learn how to prepare a level of documentation that will assist the Office of Investigations in their research. Real-world scenarios from the field, best practices in maintaining safety, conducting investigations, obtaining written statements, proper documentation, and corrective action will be discussed.
Goals will emphasize:
- The purpose of an investigation
- Causes of incidents
- Responding to incidents
- Gathering all sources of information
- Documentation
- Conducting a thorough investigation
- Follow-up
- Preventing similar incidents in the future
The workshop includes content that will work to support NJ DHS and includes updated forms and processes.
To ensure consistency, NJACP consulted with DHS’ OPIA (Office of Program Integrity & Accountability) to gain an understanding of their investigatory process, identify the most common reported incidents, and learn of investigations conducted where questionable practices or gaps in information has occurred.
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate. To receive a certificate, participants must attend the entire training in full, leaving cameras on.
NOTE: **Completion of SIT LEVEL 1 is required to take LEVEL 2.**

TRAINER
Michelle Hall-Boggan is a Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in psychology; she also earned her Masters’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers. She has dedicated more than 20 years to the social services field. Michelle provides consultation and corporate training on Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, and Debriefings. Her experience in supervising the investigation of abuse, neglect, and exploitation allegations, coupled with her clinical education and therapeutic training, make her the perfect choice as trainer for NJACP's Ensuring an Effective Investigation of Serious Incidents series.
