At Grantmakers In Aging (GIA), we’re mobilizing money and ideas to strengthen policies, programs, and resources for all of us as we age.

GIA helps funders incorporate aging as an established, emerging, or intersecting investment area, maximize impact by considering the full lifespan, and address the systemic challenges of later life. We welcome funders with converging priorities – like financial security, physical and mental health, caregiving, housing, and community building and revitalization – to join us in pursuing our vision of a just and inclusive world where all people are fully valued, recognized, and engaged at all ages.

In 2026, we’re taking our Annual Conference to Denver, where our host sponsor will be Next50. Join funders, thought leaders, and changemakers at the only meeting focused exclusively on aging and philanthropy.

WHO MAY ATTEND

GIA is a membership association of funders mobilizing money and ideas to strengthen policies, programs, and resources for all of us as we age. We welcome GIA members and eligible non-members to join us at our Annual Conference, including staff and trustees of grantmaking organizations as defined in our membership eligibility criteria. This includes private, public, family, community, operating, and corporate foundations; government funders and agencies; corporate giving programs; donor-advised funds; private and public charities; giving circles; venture philanthropies; individual philanthropists; and trust departments or trust companies that administer charitable trusts.

We believe aging is a universal issue that should matter to funders of all types, regardless of mission area or focus. Across sectors, silos, and generations, we have an opportunity to learn from one another and work together to strengthen our communities and make life better with age for everyone.

GIA CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY

The GIA conference is a space dedicated to learning, and it is important to us that all participants feel welcome. GIA appreciates your partnership in ensuring that the professional environment we share is one defined by mutual respect and inclusiveness, where dignity and diversity are valued. If you experience or witness offensive language, inappropriate behavior, or harassment of any kind while attending a GIA event or program, please alert a member of the GIA staff.

GIA PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO/AUDIO TAPING RELEASE

GIA strives to capture the community, peer-learning environment of our conferences. To do so, we photograph and record various aspects of the conference, and your image and voice might be captured. Furthermore, we may use these photographs and videos for future distribution and promotional purposes in our print and online communications materials. By participating in this conference and/or being present at the venue, you authorize GIA to use and reproduce any photographs taken, without compensation. All negatives and positives, photographic prints and digital photo files shall constitute GIA property, solely and completely. If you would like to opt-out, please contact GIA Conference Consultants, AK Consulting Group.

NON-SOLICITATION POLICY

All attendees agree to follow GIA's strict non-solicitation policy. Soliciting donations or funding from GIA members or other grantmakers during or after events is not permitted. GIA events are designed to foster a collegial and respectful environment for connection and learning where members can identify shared interests, and potential partners, and co-funding opportunities. Organizations that do both grantmaking and grantseeking cannot use GIA activities for fundraising purposes.
