Participants will learn how to:
Identify and Dismantle Accountability Traps
Shift the Cognitive Lift to Students
Increase Instructional Self-Awareness
Holding students accountable sounds simple, but maintaining that high bar day after day is one of the hardest parts of teaching. In this session, we will move past the theory and look at how we can build more student independence. Guided by a personal journey of wrestling with, and turning around, classroom accountability, we will unpack the common traps that let students off the hook. Teachers will walk away with concrete tools to raise their awareness, manage classroom behaviors with intentionality, and confidently shift the cognitive lift to their students.
