Animal-Assisted Therapy in Inpatient Rehabiltation

This program will introduce animal-assisted therapy (AAT) and how this specialized intervention is integrated into inpatient rehabilitation. The use of AAT in inpatient rehabilitation will be identified including cognitive function, purposeful movement, communication skills and balance and coordination.  Attendees will also learn the impact AAT has on patient outcomes by addressing how it helps with social interaction, pain management and quality of life/ADLs.
