Business Courtesy Policy

Conference attendees are expected to use good judgment, discretion and moderation when accepting or offering business courtesies. Business courtesies include, among others: presents, gratuities, favors, door prizes, discounts, promotions items, hospitality, meals, drinks, tickets, passes, recreation, and offers of employment. A business courtesy should not be perceived as an attempt to influence business decisions or to gain an unfair business advantage and conference attendees may never solicit gifts or entertainment from any dealer, Caterpillar or vendor representatives or any other individuals or entities associated with the conference. Conference attendees may give and access gifts that meet all of the following criteria:

  • Limited in value;
  • Are not viewed as a bribe or payoff;
  • Consistent with generally accepted business practices and ethical standards;
  • Will promote successful working relationships and goodwill;
  • Would not reflect negatively on the Association or Conference Attendees if disclosed to the public;
  • Not cash or cash equivalents (including gift certificates and vouchers).
