The 19th World Congress of the World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) is more than a scientific gathering - it’s a global meeting of hearts and minds. Throughout the Congress, delegates will have opportunities to connect, celebrate, and recharge during special social events designed to foster community and collaboration.
Opening Ceremony & Welcome Reception

Mark the official start of WAIMH 2026 with an evening of welcome, inspiration, and connection. The Opening Ceremony will set the tone for the days ahead - celebrating the Congress theme, the host city of Toronto, and the global WAIMH community.
Following the ceremony, join us for the first Plenary Session of the Congress and a Welcome Reception, where delegates can meet fellow participants, network with colleagues, and enjoy light refreshments in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Enjoy an energizing live performance by Sultans of String - renowned for their genre-blending “worldgrass” sound that weaves together global musical traditions - followed by a DJ to keep the celebration going, inviting you to relax, mingle, and share in the joy of coming together.
