Prior to your arrival

Due to federal regulations and internal procedures, Diablo Canyon Power Plant—like all U.S. nuclear facilities—must implement an access control program. All visitors must register in advance to obtain security clearance for plant access.

Accommodations

Some tours include ascending multiple flights of stairs and approximately 1.5 miles of walking. If you have a disability, mobility impairment, or other access or functional needs that may require accommodations, please notify your host or tour coordinator in advance.

Note:  This visit/public tour does not include access to the protected area, turbine deck, radiological controlled areas, or spent fuel pools.

Public Health & Safety

At Diablo Canyon, the health and safety of our visitors and coworkers are a top priority. To help keep everyone safe, we ask that anyone experiencing flu‑like symptoms or who has been recently ill please stay home and plan to visit another time.

While on site, please use handrails on stairs, stay on designated walkways and crosswalks, and watch for vehicles, plant equipment, and potential trip hazards. For your safety, do not use your cell phone while walking. Your host will share additional information prior and during your visit.

Photography & Cellular Service

The use of photography and video recording devices—including cameras, cellphones, smart glasses, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, and similar devices—is not permitted in certain areas of the plant. Please check with and follow directions from your host or tour coordinator at all times.

Verizon Wireless is the only cellular provider with service on the plant site.
