Overview
MHA sponsored a group of 13 hospital care teams on their journey to earn Green Belts through the A3 Solutions Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Program. Lean Six Sigma is a performance improvement methodology that relies on collaborative team effort to improve performance by removing waste and reducing variation.
The 13 hospital teams will present their organization's LSS Green Belt project summaries and discuss their process to support key patient safety and quality improvement initiatives. Join us for this virtual event showcasing the dedicated work by each organization to enhance the quality of health care.
Objectives
The Lean Six Sigma cohorts will present their project summaries focusing on the following key objectives:
- identify processes improving patient care delivery by reducing surgical site infections and lengths of hospital stay
- recognize approaches to enhance patient experience post-operative through increased patient education, satisfaction and safety
- refine strategies for CAUTI prevention
- optimize clinical practice to reduce costs and eliminate waste on workflow-based areas in emergency departments
- implement workflow ownership and accountability to improve operating room turnover times
- describe techniques to track STEMI and stroke performance metrics
- discuss process improvement in imaging ordering accuracy
- identify effective fall risk interventions and increase early mobility
- evaluate methods to reduce no-show rates, maintain Medicare/Medicaid enrollment continuity, and counter nonclinical factors that affect an individual’s health
These initiatives reflect the cohort’s commitment to improving clinical outcomes through structured, data-driven approaches.
