Join us for the 13th Annual  Maine Military and Community Network Conference, where we will explore resources and support systems available in our local communities to help our veterans and service members thrive. This year’s theme, “What’s in my Backyard,” emphasizes connecting with Maine-based resources, fostering relationships, and building a supportive network for our heroes and their families.

Keynote Speakers:

Christy Gardner

Opening our conference is Christy Gardner, the passionate founder of Mission Working Dogs. Christy’s journey began during her service in the U.S. Army Military Police in Asia, where a life-changing injury in 2006 led her to accept a service dog, Moxie, in 2010. With 14 years of experience in training Service and Therapy Dogs, along with nine years spent breeding, Christy’s mission is to empower individuals through the incredible bond between humans and dogs. Her insights into overcoming challenges and the power of service dogs will inspire and motivate attendees.

Chris Roseberry

Following Christy, we welcome Chris Roseberry, Executive Ambassador from the Travis Mills Foundation (TMF). TMF is dedicated to supporting recalibrated post-9/11 veterans and their families through meaningful programs that help overcome physical challenges, strengthen family bonds, and provide well-deserved relaxation. As the Facilities Director, Chris manages over 50 acres of land, multiple buildings, and oversees all construction projects and logistics. His dedication to improving the lives of veterans and their families will provide valuable insights during his remarks.

Remarks from General Bill Libby (Ret) 

We are honored to have General Bill Libby (Ret.) share his insights on the Maine Military Community Network and the “No Wrong Door” initiative, fostering connections and support within our communities.

Breakout Sessions

Following the keynote addresses, attendees can participate in a variety of breakout sessions focusing on essential topics, including:

• Military 101
• Maine Veteran Treatment Courts
• Justice-Involved Veterans and Best Practices
• The Value of Networking Panel Discussion
• Spirituality in Military Life

Throughout the day, participants will have ample opportunities for networking, gathering valuable information, and sharing fellowship with fellow veterans and community members.

Conference Objectives:

• Engage civilian communities in the reintegration of veterans and service members.
• Increase awareness among service members, veterans, and providers regarding issues and opportunities related to the wellbeing of those who have served in the military.

This conference aims to build a support network for our veterans and service members, ensuring that they have access to the resources they need to thrive within our communities. We look forward to seeing you there!

General Attendee $60 / Military Personnel or Veteran $30

The registration fee includes workshop attendance, continuing education credits, continental breakfast and lunch.
