Course Description

This full-day, hands-on course introduces clinicians to the in-office digital workflow, from scan data to finished printed parts, with an emphasis on implant dentistry. Participants begin printing right away and learn the fundamentals of 3D printing while their jobs run: preparing and inspecting STL files, orientation, supports, nesting, resin handling and post-processing. The afternoon applies these skills to clinical applications including diagnostic models, occlusal guards, surgical guides, provisional restorations and full-arch prototypes. Attendees leave with printed pieces in hand and a clear roadmap for bringing these workflows into their own practice.

 Learning objectives

  • Describe the digital workflow from intraoral scan and CBCT data to a print-ready STL file, including how to inspect and prepare files for printing.
  • Demonstrate the core steps of in-office 3D printing, including orientation, supports, nesting and post-processing, to fabricate models, occlusal guards and surgical guides.
  • Apply digital design workflows to implant dentistry, including surgical guide planning and provisional and full-arch restorations.
