8th Annual Conference of the Indiana Allergy and Immunology Society

The 8th Annual Indiana Allergy and Immunology Society meeting is an opportunity for allergists within Indiana and its surrounding states to meet in-person and hear updates on diseases from four nationally recognized speakers. In addition, it allows the Indiana University Allergy/Immunology fellows to present cases for discussion.

Target Audience

Practicing allergists, primary care physicians and allied healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will be able to evaluate and integrate recent research and clinical breakthroughs, novel therapies, and updated guidelines into the diagnosis and management of pediatric and adult food allergies.​ 

 2. Participants will be able to differentiate between various mast cell disorders through precise diagnostic workups and formulate evidence-based pharmacological treatment plans.​ 

3. Participants will be able to identify appropriate patients that would benefit from a multi-disciplinary care model utilizing targeted biologic therapies and surgical interventions to optimize outcomes for patients with overlapping Type 2inflammatory conditions (e.g. chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyposis, aspirin sensitivity,etc.).​ 

4. Participants will be able to apply effective communication strategies and digital literacy tools to translate complex allergy/immunology data into accurate, engaging, and impactful social media content while combating medical misinformation.​ 

5. Participants will be able to analyze and critique complex clinical cases presented by Indiana University allergy/immunology fellows, discussing diagnostic and management strategies, and applying lessons learned to their own clinical practice.  fellows’ case presentations of unique cases at Indiana University.​
