Course Summary
The Botox Certification for Dental Professionals and Medical Doctors is a comprehensive continuing education program designed to equip dentists and physicians with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely and effectively integrate Botox into their practice for both therapeutic and aesthetic applications.

Upon successful completion, participants earn full Botox Provider Certification for dental, therapeutic, and cosmetic applications
Level 1: Online Foundational Botox Certification
Format: Self-paced or instructor-led virtual course (CE eligible)
Target Audience: Dentists and physicians new to Botox or looking to refresh their foundational knowledge
Course Duration: 16 hours total, divided into bite-sized modules + post-module quizzes The online modules must be completed by November 13th, 2026 (before in-person session).
Goals:
- Understand the science, safety, and scope of Botox.
- Learn core facial anatomy and indications for dental-related Botox use.
- Become familiar with protocols, techniques, contraindications, and patient evaluation.
Level 2: In-Person Advanced Botox Application and Hands-On Training (with LIVE patient)
Format: 2 day in-person hands-on clinical training (lecture + hands-on)
November 14, 2026 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm: 8h Lecture
November 15, 2026, from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm: 8h Hands-on clinical training
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 1 online course
Goals:
- Apply Botox safely and precisely in a clinical dental setting.
- Master assessment, mapping, and injection techniques.
- Understand case selection, treatment planning, and complications.
Level 3 – Advanced Therapeutic & Aesthetic Botulinum Toxin
Format: 2 day in-person hands-on clinical training (lecture + hands-on)

Sunday, March 21st, 2027, from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm: Live Patient Hands-On Workshop
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 2 Botox course
This advanced training builds on the foundations established in Level 2 and provides an in-depth understanding of myofascial dysfunctions, facial pain disorders, migraines, and tension headaches.
Participants will learn how to accurately evaluate and treat these conditions using therapeutic botulinum toxin protocols.
Level 3 also covers advanced aesthetic applications of botulinum toxin for the mid-face, lower face, and neck, focusing on reducing signs of aging and correcting facial asymmetries.
All hands-on practice takes place in a safe, supervised setting with expert instructors.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Perform a comprehensive evaluation of facial pain, myofascial dysfunction, migraine, and tension headaches
- Develop detailed treatment plans using therapeutic botulinum toxin
- Complete a medical history and aesthetic goals assessment for cosmetic patients
- Safely prepare and administer botulinum toxin injections
Level 4 – Dermal Fillers: Comprehensive Training
Format: 2 day in-person hands-on clinical training (lecture + hands-on)

Sunday, May 16th, 2027, from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm: Live Patient Hands-On Workshop
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 3 Botox course
Level 4 introduces participants to facial dermal fillers, expanding on the therapeutic and aesthetic concepts learned in Levels 1–3. Participants will learn how to select the appropriate filler and safely incorporate it into a comprehensive facial treatment plan.
The curriculum includes a detailed review of anatomy and injection techniques for the lips, vermilion border, nasolabial folds, and perioral region, along with guidance on preventing and managing complications.
Participants will gain hands-on experience under expert supervision.
By the end of this course, Participants will be able to:
- Understand the properties of different dermal fillers and select the appropriate product
- Develop integrated treatment plans combining botulinum toxin and fillers
- Safely perform filler injections using both needles and cannulas
- Recognize and manage complications
Course Requirements
Level 2 Requirements:
Participants who wish to participate in the hands-on training on Day 2 are required to bring at least one patient.
Dentists: to take part in the clinical portion, dentists must hold a valid license (regular or temporary) from the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (ODQ) and provide proof of current malpractice insurance prior to the course.
If you do not hold an ODQ license, you are still welcome to attend the full course and observe the hands-on training; however, you will not be permitted to perform any procedures.
Patient Fees: Participants are responsible for the fees associated with their patients. A discounted clinical fee of $8/unit will be charged for each patient treated during Day 2 of the Level 2 workshop.
Level 3 Requirements:
- Participants must have treated a minimum of 20 patients with botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A), including treatments for the upper face and bruxism.
- Each participant must bring at least one patient (for both therapeutic and aesthetic treatments) for the hands-on practice. (May bring up to 2 patients)
- Model information (name, age, treatment history, and treatment area) must be submitted to the instructors four weeks before the hands-on day, by February 21st, 2027, for review.
Level 4 Requirements:
- Participants must also have treated a minimum of 20 patients with botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A), including mid-face, lower-face, and neck therapies, as well as treatments for pain and myofascial dysfunction.
- Each participant must bring at least one patient for the hands-on practice.
- Patient information (name, age, past history of toxin or filler treatment, and treatment area) must be submitted to the instructors four weeks before the hands-on day, by April 18th, 2027, for review.

For all ODQ member dentists, the continuing education policy states that each hour of theory training provides 1 CE unit, and each hour of hands-on training provides 2 CE units. For dental hygienists who are members of the OHDQ and all ADA CERP member dentists, the continuing education policy operates on the basis of hours of educational activity, whether theoretical or practical.
