The Pelvic Anatomy Expo is a collaborative event designed to support the growing need for cross‑disciplinary anatomical education. The six‑day program features five focused didactic and hands‑on cadaver courses. Advancements in retroperitoneal laparoscopic techniques have expanded anatomical understanding, contributing to improved surgical outcomes and reduced complication rates. In addition, deeper insight into intrapelvic neuroanatomy is reshaping traditional specialty boundaries and creating new avenues for collaboration among gynecologists, colorectal surgeons, urologists, hip, spine, and peripheral nerve surgeons, and pain medicine specialist.

2026 PA Expo Testimonial

"This was an exceptionally high‑yield educational experience. The Pelvic Anatomy Expo genuinely expanded my understanding by helping me connect internal anatomy to external presentation, and by painting a much more dynamic, three‑dimensional picture of pelvic health. It truly felt like taking what is often approached as a 2D problem and making it 3D.

The multidisciplinary nature of the course—spanning colorectal surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, neurology, neurosurgery and PM&R/interventional pain—was especially impactful. Hearing different perspectives was both illuminating and validating. It reinforced that many of us are grappling with the same complex, multifaceted problems from different specialty angles, and that meaningful progress for these patients depends on shared understanding and collaboration.

I also greatly appreciated both the refresher and the opportunity to gain new skills and perspectives within my own discipline of interventional pain management. As a result, I feel I’ve grown more comfortable discussing these complex pelvic cases with patients within my scope of practice, and I’m beginning to see a clearer, more constructive path forward for their care.

Overall, the course left me feeling more empowered and optimistic that we can better help these patients through continued collaboration across disciplines. I would absolutely consider returning next year—not only to reinforce my own skills and understanding, but also to continue contributing to and building collaborative, team‑based approaches for these very complex patients."
