F and K Awards Demystified: Strategies for Biomedical Career Success is a two-day virtual outreach event hosted by the Office of Research Training and Special Programs (ORTSP), Division of Extramural Activities (DEA), at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), on September 16–17, 2026 from 10am-2pm EST on each day. Designed for early-career investigators, the program provides practical guidance on preparing competitive F and K award applications through sessions on the application and peer review processes, NIAID research priorities, proposal development tips, and NIH funding resources. Participants will hear from NIAID program staff and Scientific Review Officers from the NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR) and will have opportunities to engage with experts during the Q and A sessions. Note that the information provided will only be relevant to currently active NOFOs and will not address any proposed or upcoming changes to these awards.
