The Missouri Behavioral Health Council and the Missouri Department of Mental Health are planning a one-day, in-person strategic planning session for treatment providers, trained gambling clinicians, clinical supervisors, and the Missouri Department of Mental Health staff. With approximately 28 member agencies and as many as 120 participants, the day provides an opportunity to hear directly from the people delivering services and identify what is needed to strengthen problem gambling treatment across Missouri.
The session will focus on practical questions: What are providers already doing? Where are the gaps? What do agencies need to build their capacity? What professional development is most important? What organizational policies or practices need attention? How can the connection between the helpline and treatment be improved? The day will bring those findings together into a focused set of statewide priorities.
The intent is not to produce a complete statewide plan in one meeting. The goal is to create a useful picture of current strengths, needs, and opportunities that can guide training, provider support, committee work, and future planning.
The day will be highly facilitated and designed to collect usable input from a large group. Participants will work at tables, contribute ideas to the sticky wall, review the themes that emerge, and share observations across agencies. The process will move from provider-level experience to statewide priorities.
Continuing education is available for this learning collaborative.
