The USCCB Committee on Canonical Affairs and Church Governance, the USCCB Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations, and the University of Notre Dame invite Catholic bishops of the United States to a seminar on the bishop's ministry of governance, with special focus on episcopal leadership in practice.

To be held on the campus of the University of Notre Dame from June 20 through 25, 2027, the seminar will be facilitated by leaders with on-the-ground diocesan experience and Notre Dame faculty. The seminar will be comprised of a combination of presentations, case studies, and small-group discussions, and will be oriented toward practical matters related to episcopal leadership.

Bishops are invited to register with no charge. Registration will include lodging at the Morris Inn (Notre Dame’s on campus hotel) from June 20, 2027, until June 25, 2027; presentations; and all meals from the evening of June 20 through lunch on June 25, 2027.

The University of Notre Dame will provide charter bus transportation from the USCCB June Plenary Assembly in Louisville, which concludes Friday, June 18, 2027, to Notre Dame.

Accommodations and meals will be provided for bishops arriving directly from the Assembly in Louisville. Please register for the bus via this registration form. Additional details on the charter bus will be provided in the spring at BishopsGovernanceSeminar.nd.edu.
