Frosh is a series of fun, multi-day events run by student organizations to help you make connections on campus. Faculty Froshes are exclusive to students who have accepted their offer into a given Faculty.

Land Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that Frosh takes place on unceded, unsurrendered and ancestral Indigenous territory. This land, known as Tiohtià:ke (also called Montreal), has long served as a site of meeting and exchange for the Kanien’kehá:ka/Mohawk Nation, belonging to the Haudenosaunee Confederacy as well as other Indigenous nations, notably the Anishinaabeg nations.

We recognize the lasting impacts of colonization and the presence of settler colonial structures. It is important we continuously honour Indigenous Peoples by learning about the history of this land and understanding how colonization and neo-colonialism continue to affect Indigenous communities today

We call for Frosh participants and members of the McGill community to engage in real action and meaningful reflection on the history and live experiences of Indigenous Peoples. This can include uplifting Indigenous voices, supporting Indigenous organizations, integrating Indigenous knowledge, and speaking out against ongoing injustices. We also encourage continuous self-education and reflection on the privileges each of us hold. These efforts are essential for renewing relationships and building sustained trust with local Indigenous communities
