COURSE OVERVIEW

In this course you’ll go beyond the basic features and functions of Google tools, to explore what’s possible with G Suite. You’ll learn how to take Slides, Sheets, and Forms to the next level with interactive, dynamic elements that incorporate 21st-century skills like collaboration, communication, and creativity. You will learn how to design a digital portfolio template to showcase student growth using the versatile Sites platform. We will also show you how to set up your Google Drive and Chrome browser for maximum efficiency and introduce you to Keep, a lesser known, but powerful Google tool to organize and track your digital workflow. Advance your skills and knowledge of G Suite with this intermediate level course.

 Expected Learning Outcomes

  • Use provided prompts specific to Google Apps, to describe assumptions and insights of practitioners, researchers and self, including how the information relates to professional educational practice.
  • Identify Chrome extensions that can improve productivity and/or achievement of students.
  • Design alternative uses for Slides that include interactive and dynamic elements.
  • Develop a plan for providing effective feedback to students using Google Apps.
  • Create a student portfolio template using Google Sites.
  • Evaluate your ability to meet digital age standards of practice set forth by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
  • Demonstrate the advanced use of features and functions of the following Google™ tools: Drive, Team Drive, Chrome, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Google Classroom, Keep, Tour Builder and Sites.
  • Participants will explore diagnostic assessment and early intervention specific to literacy.
