A VETiS student is a secondary school student who is studying a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course as part of their school program. To be eligible to compete at a WSA regional competition in a VETiS category, you must be enrolled in a VET course within a secondary school in the year of the competition.

By ticking the box below, all parties are accepting these Terms and Conditions and acknowledge the following:

  • The competitor is registering to participate in a WorldSkills Australia Competition. All competitors under the age of 18 at the date of the competition must have the consent of a parent/guardian and Principal (or other nominated school representative) in order to be eligible to compete.  Date of birth information is to establish eligibility in the VETiS Regional and if applicable National Competitions.
  • All personal data will be collected, stored, and used as per WorldSkills Australia Privacy Policy (https://www.worldskills.org.au/privacy-policy/). The personal information will be used in order to administer and facilitate participation in the WorldSkills competition including providing a safe environment for the competitor.  WorldSkills Australia will disclose your information to the state/territory education department (or vice versa) in the state that you are competing in and in most instances to the host school / TAFE running the competition.  Only the appropriate personal information will be disclosed to these organisations to complete their functions.  Information collected will be used or disclosed for the purposes stated in the Terms and Conditions or where otherwise permitted by law.  It may be used for commercial purposes including providing information regarding WorldSkills Regional Competitions, future events, product information, special offers from partners and other opportunities which may support the competitor’s career or industry.  WorldSkills will keep personal information secure, and details will not be distributed to any third parties without prior consent from the parent/guardian.
  • If any changes are required to the competitor’s personal details prior to the competition or any queries, contact the WorldSkills Australia VETiS Regional Coordinator contact in your state at https://www.worldskills.org.au/regions/ prior to the start of the competition. An unsubscribe option from all information sent from WorldSkills Australia, is outlined in the WorldSkills Privacy Policy.
  • Information promoting special offers from partners, career opportunities and industry information may be shared with the competitor.
  • The competitor will read and adhere to the information contained within the WorldSkills Australia Competition Pack which outlines the competition details, conditions of entry, health and safety guidelines and the Code of Conduct. This Pack will be forwarded to the competitor upon completion of Registration.
  • Additional information in relation to the competition may be provided via email or on the WorldSkills Australia website.
  • The decision of the judges is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Whilst every endeavour will be made by WorldSkills Australia to ensure the safety of the competitor, it is not a guarantee of their safety.
  • The parent/guardian acknowledges participation involves a level of risk, as such, the parent/guardian acknowledges and assumes all the personal risks of their child participating in a WorldSkills Australia Competition.
  • The parent/guardian consents to their child receiving any medical treatment deemed necessary before, during and/or after the competition as well as the release of any medical information necessary for such treatment.
  • The parent/guardian is responsible and assumes all liability for additional costs incurred for their child to participate in the competition, including but not limited to travelling to and from the competition host location, forgone wages, tools and equipment the competitor may be required to bring to and use during competition (as outlined in the Competition Pack) and in the event of an accident, any medical expenses not covered by the insurances WorldSkills Australia has in place.
  • The competitor is personally responsible for all their possessions prior to, during and after while on site at the competition.
  • By competing in a Regional Competition, the competitor may have the opportunity to participate in the National competition however this is not guaranteed.
