Certificate or Individual Courses
The Event Management Program is designed to be flexible and meet the different needs of individuals interested in professional development and career enhancement. You can take individual courses to learn more in a specific area or can cover certificate requirements and earn a Professional Certificate in Event Management. 

This program is a non-degree, non-credit program that provides continuing education units (CEUs). This is a professional certificate, not a certification.

Certificate Requirements
To attain a Professional Certificate in Event Management from The George Washington University School of Business, students must successfully achieve the following:

1. Complete and pass the following 4 Core Courses worth 1.2 CEUs each or 4.8 total CEUs. 

  • Best Practices in Event Management
  • Event Coordination
  • Event Marketing
  • Risk Management: Financial, Legal and Ethical Safeguards

2. Complete and pass 3 Elective Courses totaling 3.6 CEUs.

3. Submit the Certificate request form (please email eventmgmt@gwu.edu to receive this form)

The total CEUs required for the Professional Certificate in Event Management are 8.4 CEUs.

Upon successful completion of the seven Event Management classes, students receive a Professional Certificate in Event Management from The George Washington University School of Business.

Program Costs

Each self-paced online course costs $450 USD. The total cost for 7 self-paced online courses is $3,150 USD. You can register and pay for all courses at once or one course at a time. You can register for these courses at any time – you will receive your login details to begin the course(s) within 3-5 business days of registration. Payment is required in order to complete registration.
