SESSION OVERVIEW

As the year closes, this interactive session steps back from the audit plan to ask a simple question: how do we get better, not just busier? We will revisit the core skills that make internal auditors effective and valued: project management, delivery, communication, time management, and documentation, along with how AI can help us work faster and more efficiently.

We will build those skills by reflecting on real work. Which projects went well this year, and which could have gone better? Where did our time go, how did we keep engagements on track, and how well did we communicate with stakeholders and each other? For managers and audit leaders, we will also revisit what it takes to lead an IA team well: building trust, developing skills across the team, reviewing work effectively, and keeping momentum when everyone is stretched.

This is a sharing session for both leaders and doers. Whether you are early in your career or leading a function, come ready to share what worked, what did not, and what you would do differently. You will leave with practical ideas from peers, a clearer view of the skills to build in the year ahead, and a few personal and team commitments to work better, not busier.
