A practical conversation on investing, operating and managing risk in India
India is becoming an increasingly important part of the growth and investment strategies of businesses across the GCC. The UAE–India corridor in particular has deepened considerably, underpinned by closer economic ties, sustained government engagement and a growing flow of trade, capital and commercial activity between the two markets.
For companies already operating in India, considering an expansion, or exploring new opportunities in the market, this creates an increasingly important set of questions for in-house legal teams — from how to structure investments and acquisitions to navigating operations, governance, technology, regulatory risk and, ultimately, exit.
ACC MENA and Khaitan & Co bring together senior practitioners for a fast-paced, conversational roundtable on what corporate counsel should have on their radar when doing business in India. The session will be structured around practical questions and real-world experience, with a moderated discussion followed by audience Q&A. The conversation will touch on the key considerations that arise across the lifecycle of an India investment or business including market entry and acquisitions, governance and operations, data and technology, compliance, disputes, financing and exit. Importantly, the session is intended to be interactive, giving participants an opportunity to raise questions and discuss the areas most relevant to their own businesses and India plans.
For a flavour of some of the broader themes shaping the conversation, you may also find this recent piece by Haigreve Khaitan and Jean Muller, Why the UAE–India Corridor Matters Now, useful.
The discussion will be followed by an informal networking reception with canapés and drinks, offering an opportunity to continue the conversation with the speakers and fellow in-house counsel.
