At a time when energy security, supply chain resilience, and economic competitiveness are increasingly interconnected, the Southern States Energy Board’s 66^th Annual Meeting will convene leaders from across the region to strengthen the South’s role in powering America’s energy future.

Hosted by Board Chairman Governor Tate Reeves in Biloxi, this year’s meeting comes as Mississippi advances “Mississippi’s Power Play,” the Governor’s initiative to expand energy capacity, accelerate private investment, and position the state as a national model for reliable, affordable, and abundant energy development—an ideal setting for this year’s theme, The Southern Power Plan: Strategic Resources. Shared Advantages.

Against this backdrop, the Annual Meeting will bring together Governors, legislative leaders, regulators, industry executives, researchers, and federal partners to align priorities, strengthen regional coordination, and advance shared energy and economic objectives. Participants will examine emerging opportunities across the South—from nuclear energy and advanced generation technologies to critical minerals, infrastructure investment, energy security, and the systems required to support the next generation of American industry.

The Board plays a unique role in convening member states to address complex energy challenges and opportunities facing the region. The meeting will highlight how forward-looking energy policy, infrastructure investment, and strong public-private partnerships can support economic growth, strengthen industrial competitiveness, and attract transformational capital investment.
