Is every investment now effectively a bet on AI?

AI has become the frame through which much of the current investment discourse is unfolding. Much of that exposure is direct and unavoidable, with AI companies making up an estimated 45% of the S&P 500. But a growing portion of portfolios’ AI exposure is indirect, in the form of utilities, grid operators, and industrials that are now valued in large part based on AI demand – a 2026 analysis places 218 S&P 500 companies inside the “AI economy,” nearly a 6x increase over two years. Similarly, growth in many other sectors (e.g., financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, energy) now assumes AI-driven productivity gains.

Join FCLTGlobal and Mubadala alongside Abu Dhabi Finance Week to discuss these critical questions for long-term investors: How much of your portfolio relies on a small set of outcomes? How much of that risk is tolerable? Can uncorrelated returns still be found elsewhere?
